Biography
Crystal Smitherman Rosenberg was awarded her PhD in Chemistry from Georgia State University in 2015. Her graduate work was conducted under Dr. Giovanni Gadda in the field of mechanistic enzymology of flavin-dependent enzymes. She began her professional career as a Research and Development Chemist at Aalto Scientific, LTD in 2015 where she works to develop controls and calibrators for in vitro diagnostics, lyophilization optimization, and scale-up of native and recombinant proteins. In the last year, she has transitioned into Director of Development where she leads product development, product enhancements and product redesign along with evaluating and optimizing scaleup and product transfers from Research and Development to Manufacturing. She was elected to be the 2017 Chair of the Gordon Research Seminar on Enzymes, Coenzymes and Metabolic Pathways held annually in New Hampshire, USA. She has been an on-site organizer for the Southeast Enzyme Conference in Atlanta, Georgia since 2015.
