Biography
Takashi Yonetani has received his BS (Biology) in 1952 and PhD (Biochemistry) in 1960 from Osaka University and postdoctoral research training at Medical Nobel Institute, Karolinksa Institute in 1961-64. He joined the faculty of Perelman School of Medicine in 1964 and has been Professor of Biochemistry & Biophysics since 1968. He has published more than 300 peer-articles on structure-functions of oxidation-reduction enzymes and proteins, particularly heme enzymes like cytochrome c oxidase and cytochrome c peroxidase and hemoproteins such as myoglobin and hemoglobin.
